mucho obrigado for saving this thread
 People from the interior. Portuguese and amerindian influences are usually more pronounced there than in the coastal areas. Afrodescendants are an overall majority in Bahia, but not so in the huge (but thinly populated) interior.

Bahia is the brasilian state with the strongest african influence. But notice that differently from the USA, the black population is much more mixed with europeans and amerindians.
